PITTSBURG, Kan. — Ben Haggard, son of country music legend Merle Haggard, was the headline musical performance at this year's Little Balkans Days Festival, playing a gig on Saturday, Sept. 2 at Memorial Auditorium in Pittsburg. As someone who grew up hearing the likes of Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash, both of whom were favorites of her father’s, Angela Meyer, president of the Little Balkans Days association, said she definitely enjoyed the concert and she was happy to see a large turnout. “It's always nice to see the fruits of the committee’s labor because you plan pretty much from October to August to make everything happen,” said Meyer.
