Governor announces funding for nine short-line rail projects

TOPEKA, Kan.  —  On Tuesday, Governor Laura Kelly announced nine short line rail maintenance and rehabilitation projects – including one in Pittsburg – are being awarded nearly $5 million as part of the Kansas Department of Transportation’s Short Line Rail Improvement Fund (SLRIF) program. Scoular Grain in Pittsburg will be receiving $580,098.44 for a siding extension project. Two other projects across Kansas were awarded funds for siding extensions and storage tracks.
