PITTTSBURG, Kan. — Last week, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office experienced an increase of calls for service while Pittsburg Police Department had an uptick in traffic stops and the Pittsburg Fire Department extinguished more fires. From Aug. 3 to 9, the sheriff’s office responded to 309 calls for service, conducted 162 traffic stops, arrested 10 individuals, assisted 20 motorists or community members and took 19 reports. From Aug. 4 to 10, Pittsburg Police responded to 282 calls for service, conducted 84 traffic stops, engaged in 126 officer self-initiated activities, made 12 arrests and took 46 reports.
