What’s better than spending a warm summer evening by the pool? And with a furry friend close by, even better. On Wednesday evening, the Pittsburg Aquatic Center opened its doors to dog lovers across the Pittsburg area for its annual “Dog Swim” event. For one hour starting at 5:30 p.m., small dogs hit the pool and were followed with the larger dogs over 40 pounds. For $5, attendees and their animals from Dachshunds to Labradors to Bassett Hounds helped support the local SEK Humane Society, a no-kill animal shelter west of Pittsburg.
