GIRARD, Kan. –– Special Olympics Kansas (SOKS) Director John Lair is a Pittsburg native who began his association with SOKS as a volunteer during his freshman year at Pittsburg State. Lair met with the county commissioners to discuss funding options for SOKS operation in southeast Kansas through the mill levy. Last year, the county set aside $139,000 in funding for four organizations who provide services for developmentally disabled.
