ARMA, Kan. — A little bit of rain made its way into Crawford County last weekend, but that did not stop attendees of the Arma VJ Homecoming from partying like its 1946. Held for nearly eight decades, the annual celebration is believed to be the oldest continuous World War II celebration in the country, which began by honoring local veterans returning from World War II, following Victory over Japan (VJ) Day. Numerous longstanding events returned to this year’s Arma VJ Homecoming, including the junior bathing beauty contest, homecoming bocce tournament, parade, and, of course, mud volleyball.
