ARMA, Kan. — As the Christmas season approaches and Old Man Winter has already announced his arrival this year, tucked away in a corner of the Arma Public Library are a group of women dedicated to serving others and doing what they can to make the world a little bit better place. JoAnn Todd leads this little band of merry women who have crocheted, this year, 330 lapghans —smaller blankets measuring 40 inches by 40 inches meant to cover one’s lap — and 438 caddies for walkers and wheelchairs. These hand-stitched goodies are bound for residents of 25 nursing homes in 9 SEK counties and 19 local Meals on Wheels recipients.
