PITTSBURG, Kan. — Juniors and seniors from Northeast, Frontenac and St. Mary’s Colgan high schools gathered at Colgan to train for the Seatbelts Are For Everyone (SAFE) program Wednesday morning. Thirty students watched a video and received instructions from Crawford County Sheriff Danny Smith and Undersheriff Scott Tyrel. Three times during the school year, the students will stand outside the school for 30 minutes before school and 10 minutes after school and observe drivers in their area.
