PITTSBURG, Kan. — Pittsburg State University on Thursday announced a new initiative in downtown Pittsburg. Dubbed “Gorilla Rising,” the initiative is designed to expand the university’s footprint to the Block22 area to strengthen the local business district and provide business students with a unique learning experience that incorporates more practical learning opportunities. “It’s the ideal location to develop a living-learning community, full of destination appeal for the students and a place from which they can fully immerse themselves within the district,” said PSU Chief Strategy Officer Shawn Naccarato.
