100 Years Ago Feb. 15, 1923 Wholesale intoxication, not starvation or any strange fowl epidemic, has been responsible for the puzzling stupefaction of several thousand wild ducks on Spring river near Baxter Springs, Kas., it was reported yesterday. On an island in the river a large quantity of corn mash has been found. Dozens of ducks were said to have been found dead, victims of starvation, it was first believed.
