Excerpted stories in Crawford County newspaper archives 100 Years Ago Feb. 6, 1924 Farmers came on foot and on horseback, through snowdrifts waist deep in places, to attend a good road meeting held in the city hall at Walnut yesterday. The building was filled nearly to capacity with farmers and citizens of Walnut, despite snow-blocked roads which made travel by automobile impossible, and low temperatures which ordinarily would have kept them indoors. County officials were notified last night of apparent attempts to terrorize a meeting at the Lone Star school, west of Pittsburg.
