Excerpted stories in Crawford County newspaper archives 100 Years Ago (25 Leap Years) Feb. 29, 1924 The Joplin & Pittsburg Railway Co. went into the hands of a receiver today. The action was taken in federal court at Kansas City. The receivership was ordered upon an application of the Kansas Gas & Electric Co., whose bill for power the Joplin & Pittsburg had declined to pay.
