Excerpted stories in Crawford County newspaper archives 100 years ago Sept. 2, 1925 Thousands of persons jammed Broadway this morning to witness the passing of the Sparks circus parade. Without a doubt, it was one of the largest circus parade audiences that has thronged the main thoroughfare in several years. Up and down the length of Broadway in the business district there was a solid phalanx of humanity filling the sidewalks and the parked motor cars and surging out into the street on both sides as the plumed riders, noisy bands, rumbling cage wagons, steaming calliope and tramping horses, elephants, camels and zebras passed along.
