Excerpted stories in Crawford County newspaper archives 100 Years Ago Feb. 14, 1924 Four people suffered severe bruises and cuts when a Ford coupe driven by Art Deckard, of Pittsburg, smashed into a train of coal cars at the junction of a Frisco mine spur and the paved road to Girard about two miles west of the Broadway road at 3 o’clock last night. The car was demolished. Deckard said he was unable to see the train and that there is no crossing sign along the road near the tracks.
