Excerpted stories in Crawford County newspaper archives 100 years ago September 13, 1925 Embryo plans of the board of education for a school program in Pittsburg, building talked of during recent months, are beginning to take more definite shape and an effort will be made to place them in execution at once as a result of the abandonment of Lakeside, Dr. C. W. Ott, president of the board, said today. M. J. Stock of the Charles A. Smith architectural firm, Kansas City, will be here this week to be-gin the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates of a new school building for Lakeside, a new building to replace the Lincoln school, and for a new structure to serve as a combination junior high and grade school in the Teachers College district.
