100 Years Ago Jan. 31, 1923 Mandamus proceedings to compel Cherokee county to build three and a half miles of concrete road from Riverton to Baxter maybe instituted by the Joplin, Galena-Baxter Good Roads organization. Bids on the Riverton-Baxter road extension were recently rejected. The county commissioners are conferring with the Kansas attorney general on what can be legally required of the county road funds.
