CROWN POINT, Ind.—Frontenac’s 10U All-Star team started pool play over the weekend in the Cal Ripken 10U World Series, starting the tournament with a 16-6 loss to Jacksonville Beach on Saturday before falling 8-1 to Washington Park, Rhode Island on Monday in Indiana. Game One Frontenac scored the first four runs of the game but a costly 10-run second inning proved to be too much to overcome as Jacksonville Beach stormed to the victory. Luke Oliver gave Jacksonville the lead on a fielders’ choice after consecutive walks tied the game at four.
