Darlene Ann Karleskint, 84, of Frontenac, KS, passed away on Oct. 16, 2026, at her home in Frontenac, Kansas.

Darlene was born on Nov. 25, 1941, to Julian and Ellen Marie (Wilson) DeGruson in Arma, Kansas. She graduated from Pittsburg High School.

She married Gerald W. "Jerry" Karleskint on March 11, 1961, in Pittsburg, KS. Darlene farmed with her husband in rural Hepler. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2023.

Darlene was a devoted mother, who loved her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Darlene is survived by a daughter, Cheri Laine Buchanan of Pittsburg, KS: a son, Darren Alan Karleskint (Cynthia Elmor) of Frontenac, KS; a brother, Jerry DeGruson of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Katelyn Ann Osborne (Nakoma), Zachery Scott Buchanan, Jay Thomas Karleskint (Alex Powell), Becca Rachel Karleskint (Josh Ivans); great grandchildren, McKinley Osborne, Adrain Osborne, and Wrenley Osborne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Jeffrey Wayne Karleskint and brother, Julian Earl DeGruson.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brenner Mortuary in Pittsburg, KS. A private family burial will be held at a later date in the Hepler Lutheran Cemetery.
