I remember the wonderful school hot lunches our awesome cooks made for us every day. I am sure many of you do too. We took those delicious meals for granted. But I recently read some 1940-41 school newspapers from Weir High School, Weir, Ks where my aunt was a senior that year. I’m glad she saved them as it gave me a history lesson in how hot lunches became available, at least at Weir where I attended grades one thru twelve.
