Cheryl K. “Sherry” Lohr, 76, of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away on Sept. 6, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

Born on March 2, 1950, in Leon, Iowa, Sherry was the daughter of William J. and Iva V. (Billings) Gatton. On July 1, 1978, she married the love of her life, Steven Lohr, in Kansas City. They shared 48 years of partnership, devotion, and quiet joy. He survives of the home.

Sherry spent 40 years as an Avon District Manager, a role she approached with dedication, creativity, and genuine care for the people she served. She was an avid gardener whose happiest hours were spent among flowers, trees, and the living beauty she nurtured. Her faith was steady and sustaining, and she carried a cheerful spirit that she hoped others would embrace in their own lives. Above all, she was profoundly proud of her two children and three grandchildren, who were the center of her world.

In addition to her husband Steve, she is survived by her son, Jeff Lohr (Sara) of Galveston, Texas/Pittsburg, Kansas; her daughter, Allison Blevins (Taylor) of Dayton, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Mac, Penn, and Lainey; and three sisters, Carol McDonald, Lynna Oliphant, and Willa Minschke. Her life was enriched by a large and loving extended family, close friends and their families, and the caring community of friends from her church, which she cherished deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Howard Gatton, William Gatton, Richard Gatton, Ivan Gatton, and Charles Gatton; and her sisters Thelma Gatton and Violet Robinson.

In accordance with Sherry’s wishes, she will be cremated. Her ashes will be scattered beneath a newly planted tree in the family’s yard, a longheld desire reflecting her love of nature, which will be honored with gratitude and tenderness. Sherry moved through the world with a warm, lifting light, and her greatest legacy is the love she planted in her family, a love that will continue to grow within them and beneath the tree that will hold her memory. An informal visitation with family will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Brenner Mortuary. Please dress comfortably and casually. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Angels Among Us these may be left at or mailed to Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, Kansas.
