Summer tiptoed into Pittsburg, Friday, with the end of school and the opening of the Pittsburg Aquatic Center and Kiddieland, in Lincoln Park. Temperatures struggled to get above 70 and light rain fell from a sunless sky, but the hardy youngsters in the pool seemed not to care. Almost unanimously, they agreed that the water was “great!” and not cold at all. Several said they expect to spend much of their summer at the pool, where soon enough, the sun will shine and temperatures will soar. RON WOMBLE/THE MORNING SUN
