PITTSBURG, Kan. — During Monday night’s Board of Education meeting, Assistant Superintendent of Schools Ann Lee updated members on new graduation requirements for next year’s incoming freshman class. Included in the new curriculum is one semester of financial literacy to understand and effectively use various financial skills, including personal financial management, budgeting, and investing. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) courses, and 4.5 credits relating to their Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway to provide students with the academic, technical, and real-world knowledge, skills and experience they need to be prepared for a variety of career options.
