PITTSBURG, Kan. — A new Pittsburg tradition is in the making with a 5K Turkey Trot through downtown that begins at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24. “I want this to be a community thing,” said organizer Renato Pinto. “Adults, kids, strollers, and dogs are all welcome.” Pinto said several cities across the country host similar runs on or near Thanksgiving Day, including Joplin, Kansas City, and Lawrence.
