PITTSBURG, Kan. — Local business owner Al Patel loves to share his Indian heritage with his adopted home. It has been 10 years since Patel visited his hometown of Ahmedabad, India, but for the past three years, he has shared one of his hometown’s traditions with Pittsburg in the form of a kite festival that is thousands of years old. Scheduled for Saturday, May 31, festivities are to begin at 10 a.m. in the field next to Names and Numbers across from Mercy Hospital and go until 4 p.m.
