PITTSBURG, Kan. — Crawford County citizen Matt Van Becelaere, along with some of his family members, have been working daily since last week to clean up a stretch of Highway 69 from 680th Avenue to 700th Avenue. Van Becelaere said he got the idea to participate in the Adopt a Highway program when he was driving to Kansas City to visit family and noticed that just north of Arma there was a need for trash to be removed from the ditches and median. He said it was in rough shape, and after consulting with some family members, Van Becelaere signed the family up to clean up the area.
