PITTSBURG, Kan. — Triple Threat Threeatrics, a Pittsburg-based theatre company, is set to open its spring musical of “Ride the Cyclone,” which will run from Thursday to Saturday in Memorial Auditorium. Popularized on TikTok, “Ride the Cyclone” is described as a “A wholly unexpected, wildly imaginative story that delivers surprises at every turn.” The musical, by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, tells the story of a high school choir from the little town of Uranium, Canada, who meet an awful end when their roller coaster carriage derails. Each character tells a story to win the reward from a mechanical fortune teller — the chance to return to life.
