PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Pittsburg Family YMCA is calling on community members to join in its annual spring cleanup on Saturday, May 31. Scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the YMCA is looking for volunteers interested in bringing energy, gloves, and yard tools to assist the YMCA staff in giving the facility a “fresh new look.” From landscaping to cleanup to general beautification, the non-profit organization is gearing up for the growing season at its facility, located at 1100 N. Miles Ave., near Lincoln Park and Don Gutteridge Sports Complex. “Essentially what they are needing is they just want some people to come and help out, clean up on the front, maybe do some cleaning on the inside,” said YMCA Receptionist Jacob Herd.
