PITTSBURG, Kan. — Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and Pittsburg Police Department experienced a drop in calls for service last week compared to the week prior.
From May 17 to 23, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to 206 calls for service, an eight percent decrease from the previous week. Deputies also conducted 58 traffic stops, arrested four individuals, assisted 28 motorists or community members and took 21 reports. Charges for arrests included possession of hallucinogenic drugs, theft of property and others according to the Crawford County inmate roster.
From May 18 to 24, Pittsburg police responded to 292 calls for service, a 30 percent decreased from the previous week. Officers also conducted 79 traffic stops, engaged in 243 officer self-initiated activities, arrested 18 individuals, and took 53 reports. Charges for arrests included driving while suspended, criminal damage of property, driving under the influence, failure to appear, aggravated endangering a child and others according to the Crawford County inmate roster.
From May 18 to 24, Pittsburg Fire Department responded to 41 calls for service, a 28 percent increase from the previous week. Of the 41 calls, 18 were fire-related and 23 were medical-related.
