GIRARD, Kan. — Tuesday’s county commission meeting started off with Roger Lomshek raising concerns about the building of next year’s budget, citing the mistakes made in building this year’s fiscal budget, which was put together last year.
As has been reported, there were some accounting errors when this year’s budget (FY26) was put together in 2025. When those errors were caught and corrected, home and business owners saw their property taxes raised more than expected.
