PITTSBURG, Kan. — Tuesday’s Pittsburg City Commission meeting got a bit heated toward the end as commissioners clashed over proper parliamentary procedure. The temperature started to rise during a discussion of recent pay study to increase salaries for city employees when Commissioner Chuck Munsell asked City Manager Daron Hall if a new fire chief would have any input on firefighters’ pay given the sudden retirement of Chief Dennis Reilly recently and the loss of 20 firefighters during Reilly’s tenure. “You need to be careful, Chuck, with how you word things, please,” warned Commissioner Dawn McNay.
