The sound of chain saws filled the air across Pittsburg as the sun rose Tuesday morning after a series of storms Monday afternoon and evening left widespread tree damage across Southeast Kansas. Damage appeared to be limited mainly to trees and power lines, although tornado warnings did sound in Fort Scott. In Pittsburg, a number of large trees were toppled at Four-Oaks Golf Course and a utility pole was blown down at the ball diamonds.
