ARMA, Kan. — The Arma City Council convened for its first meeting of May last week, holding its annual re-organizational proceedings following discussions on snow removal, police vehicles, and rural water contracts. Typically held close to the middle of the year, the mayoral appointments ensure accountability, oversight, and council involvement by recommending nominations from the city’s attorney to department liaisons. “I’m appointing Girard National and Community National as our banks, The Morning Sun as our official paper, meetings are to continue on the first and third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. here (city hall), the judge is appointed to be Joe Sutton, the attorneys are Wheeler & Mitchelson Law Firm,” said Mayor Rob Lessen.
