Excerpted stories in Crawford County newspaper archives 100 Years Ago Nov. 2, 1923 More than one third of seats for the operas, “Madame Butterfly” and “La Boheme,” to be presented by the San Carlo Grand Opera company in Carney hall, Nov. 15-16, were sold yesterday, the first day tickets were available. Reserved seat boxes were kept at Botefuhr’s and Peeples’ Music stores and college professors are in charge at each place. According to Prof. F. H. Dickinson the more expensive seats are selling fastest, especially the $3 ones in the balcony.
