Excerpted stories in Crawford County newspaper archives 100 Years Ago Nov. 3, 1923 Under a full head of steam, the Shrine special train bearing Pittsburg's delegation to Springfield, Mo., for the dedication of Abu Ben Adhem Temple there today, pulled out from the Missouri Pacific station at 1:26 o’clock this morning. It was a wildly decorated train painted luridly in green, red and yellow. On the front of the engine was a large Shrine emblem, within an effigy of O. E. Coulter, potentate, in the center.
