Excerpted stories in Crawford County newspaper archives 100 Years Ago Aug. 25, 1923 Three complete plants for production of whiskey and 17 gallons of the finished product with 21 barrels of mash were found yesterday afternoon by sheriff's officers and federal prohibition enforcement agents. Two stills were found in a corn field on the Henry Utermohlen farm three miles east and one mile north of Fourth and Broadway. The third still was found on the nearby farm of August Roberts.
