COLUMBUS, Kan. — It was a tale of two distinctly different endings in Frontenac softball’s doubleheader against the Columbus Titans. The two teams have been atop the CNC standings all year, and it was a pivotal seventh inning that decided the victor in each game, with Frontenac breaking a seventh-inning deadlock with an explosive inning for a 7-3 victory in game one before Columbus walked it off in the second game for a 6-5 victory to force a split. “I thought we showed a lot of heart in the first game, to come back and get those runs in the last inning,” Frontenac head coach Cassie Rhuems said.
