Marvin Lee Wilson, 74, of Frontenac, KS died Wednesday Sept. 23, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg, KS following a long illness.
Marvin was born June 7, 1952, in Pittsburg, KS, the son of Kenneth Marvin and Julia (Trytek) Wilson. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Girard High School in 1970. He received certification from Pittsburg State University in technical drafting in 1972.
On May 12, 1973, Marvin married Mary Loretta McKenna at the Newman Center on the campus of Pittsburg State University. Marvin worked most of his life as a structural steel draftsman working for McNally Manufacturing in Pittsburg, KS, Unique Metal Fabrication in Pittsburg, KS, and Mid America Pipe in West Mineral, KS until his retirement in 2019.
Marvin enjoyed bowling, horseshoe pitching, NHRA Drag Racing; and especially spending time with family, his children and their spouses, and his two grandchildren.
Marvin is survived by his wife Mary Wilson; daughter Kristin Wilson Beard and husband Christopher of Round Rock, TX; daughter in law Kristen Wilson of Joplin, MO; sister Sherry Gutierrez of Flower Mound, TX; closest nieces Trudy Peak and husband Dale of Cherokee, KS, Lori Clem and husband Durward of Sachse, TX, and Linda Gass and husband Terry of Harmony, PA; grandchildren Lawrence and Alexander Beard, and numerous additional nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and son Kevin Matthew Wilson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday Sept. 28, 2026, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Bergkamp as Celebrant. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Rosary Prayer Service will be at 10 a.m. prior to the funeral service at the church.
