Linda L. Rybnick

Linda L. Rybnick, 83, of Frontenac, KS, passed away on Sept. 7, 2026, at Sharon Lane Health and Rehab in Shawnee, Kansas.

Linda was born on May 7, 1943, to Daryl and Madeline Lester Dalton in Chanute, Kansas. She graduated from Chanute High School in 1961 and attended Kansas State Teachers College. She married Robert J. Rybnick on Aug. 28, 1965, in Chanute, KS. He preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1991.

Linda worked at Pittsburg State University in the Business and Alumni offices. She also owned Occasions Gift Shop, and worked for Crawford County Mental Health. She was a charter member of the Little Balkans Quilt Guild, volunteered for Angels Among Us, Special Olympics Kansas, and the Kansas Guardianship Program.

She is survived by one daughter, MeLinda L. Lair (John) of Shawnee, KS; a sister, Carol L. Horton of Riverside, CA; a nephew, Kurtis L. Elrod of Riverside, CA; and her granddogs, Landry and Reese; special friends, Don and Jana Hartshorn.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, at 2 p.m. in the Brenner Mortuary with Chaplain Pete Mayo officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Brenner Mortuary in Pittsburg, KS. Memorial donations can be made to the Special Olympics Kansas and/or Friends of the Public Library. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
