Ancil “AJ” Joseph Masters passed away July 25, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Springfield. Ancil was born Jan. 6, 1984, in Liberal, Kansas to Danny Masters and Tina Beers. He graduated from Pleasanton High School in 2002. Soon after, he moved to Pittsburg and worked at a variety of places such as Mazzio’s, GameCo and a local landscaping company. In recent years, he held a position in maintenance at Via Christi Hospital then Mercy Hospital Pittsburg. Ancil loved to sing, play guitar, and talk about sports.

Ancil is survived by his daughters Shelby and Sasha Masters, his sons Sullivan and Arthur Masters, and his ex-wife Siobhan Masters, all of Pittsburg. He is also survived by his brother Randy Masters and his wife Ketruah of Westville, OK, his sister Roni Ritchie and her husband Jason of Stillwell, OK, his brother Eddie Amoret of Butler, MO and his sister Danni Amoret of Butler, MO. Ancil is also remembered by many friends who considered him family.

Ancil’s body was donated to help with scientific studies and further educate future medical practitioners. A celebration of life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, on the patio at 5th Street Bar and Grill,111 W. 5th Street in Pittsburg.
