ANDOVER, Kan. (AP) — A 3-year-old boy wandered off and drowned after he was placed into temporary foster care with relatives at a rural Kansas home, authorities said Tuesday. The boy was reported missing Saturday from the home just outside of Andover, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Authorities were told that the child went missing while playing outside as an adult was doing yard work.
