PITTSBURG, Kan. — Roughly 300 local leaders and companies filled the ballrooms of the Overman Student Center at PSU Thursday night for the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Banquet and Fundraiser. In an evening devoted to accomplishments and honors, the prestigious “Spirit of Pittsburg Award” was bestowed upon Frances Mitchelson. Her name was added to a distinguished list that includes Joe Hart, Gene Bicknell, Ron Marrone, Jeff Wilbert, Gordon Elliott, Ken Brock, Joe Dellasega, among others, and most recently, Mayor Dawn McNay.
