CHEROKEE, Kan. — For the time being, Southeast USD 247 holds onto its traditional five-day school week following a special board meeting held Wednesday night in the school’s auditorium. Staff, students, and community members came together just before sunset to hear the school board discuss its research findings, survey results, and to field any additional questions or concerns. Schools switching from the traditional five-day week to four days has been a rising trend amongst schools in Kansas.
