PITTSBURG, Kan. — In the aftermath of a severe thunderstorm that rolled through the area in the early morning hours, city crews from the Pittsburg Parks & Recreation Department were out across Pittsburg Thursday clearing roadways and picking up debris that was blocking streets. “It was freak thing that we got over three inches of rain in an hour and a half,” said Justin Ziesenis, Pittsburg Fire Department battalion chief. The Pittsburg Police and Fire Departments responded to multiple storm-related calls in the overnight hours.
