PITTSBURG, Kan. — Southeast Kansas Community Action Program (SEK-CAP) employees volunteered at numerous locations across 12 counties in southeast Kansas on Friday for its annual Day of Caring. In Crawford County, volunteers helped at SEK Humane Society, The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center, Crawford County KDWP State Parks, Literary Cat Co., City of Girard Pool, Miners Hall Museum and Arma City Library. “The purpose of this is to celebrate and raise awareness about the impact of community action agencies in fighting poverty and empowering communities,” Columbus Head Start Center Manager Krista Fischer said.
