Railroad crossings to close near Girard

GIRARD, Kan. — Drivers traveling east and west through northern Crawford County may wish to avoid a portion of Girard beginning this week. The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has announced that railroad crossings on K-126 just east of K-7 and K-47 on the east side of Girard will be closed for maintenance on consecutive days. According to KDOT, Burlington Northern and Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway is planning to close its crossing on K-126 just east of K-7 early Wednesday, Dec. 3, remaining closed until early Thursday, Dec. 4.
