PITTSBURG, Kan. — Businesses, community members and local organizations of Southeast Kansas came together Thursday to host the 35th Annual Chili, Soup, and Pie Fundraiser for Project Warmth. Every year since the late 1980s, community members have lent a hand with the fundraiser to assist families in need to pay their heating bills. “The funds that we raise, Catholic Charities and the Salvation Army help us to disperse those funds to Crawford County residents,” said Tom Wehrman, a volunteer who helped organize the fundraiser.
