PITTSBURG, Kan. — At Wednesday’s executive meeting of the Pittsburg 150 committee, students from the Launch Program at Pittsburg High School presented their ideas for the city’s birthday in 2026. First on the list is hosting birthday parties at all USD 250 and St. Mary’s Colgan schools, complete with educational activities focusing on the city’s history and culture. There are plans for a Coal Scavenger Hunt and a coloring book featuring the city’s landmarks.
