PITTSBURG, Kan. — Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Hispanic Ministry will be holding its annual day of giving thanks and praise for Our Lady of Guadalupe on Sunday, Dec. 11 and Monday, Dec. 12. According to the tradition, the Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration commemorates when the apparition of the Virgin Mary came to St. Juan Diego in a vision at Tepeyac Hill, Mexico in 1531. During the vision the Virgin Mary asked for a shrine to be built.
