PITTSBURG, Kan. — Every Memorial Day, a small group of volunteers spends the morning erecting nearly 900 flags at the Highland Park Cemetary in Pittsburg. They return in the evening to take down, clean, and fold the flags for next year. It is a tradition dating back to 1972.
