PITTSBURG, Kan. — After the excitement of Homecoming last week, the Pittsburg State University Gorilla Activities Board (GAB) scheduled a few Halloween-themed events, starting with Haunted History on Tuesday evening. Over 20 attendees gathered in the Gorilla Village where GAB set up two small bonfires for people to make s’mores and roast hot dogs, and after everyone settled in, local historian and Morning Sun reporter Dustin Strong told a few spooky stories about McCray Hall, Stull Cemetary near Topeka, the waving widow in Fort Scott, the creek ape in Montgomery County, and the caves in Okinawa when he was in the military. After Strong was finished speaking, attendees were encouraged to step up to the mic and tell their own ghost, creepy, or supernatural stories.
